Cooking Instructions

Open Pot Method

Step 1 - Rice preparation

Soak washed rice in 750 ml water for 10 minutes. Drain water. Take a saucepan add approx. 750 ml water 1 tsp. salt, 5 ml oil, rice & boil until it is 75% cooked.

Closed Pot Method

Step 2 - Gravy preparation

Simultaneously, sauté 250g of vegetables or small chicken/mutton pieces in 1 tsp. oil for approx. 2 minutes. Add masala paste from Rice n Spice Kit into another pan, add 10 ml water (if required add more) & sauté vegetables or chicken/mutton. Mix well. Cook for 15 -20 minutes on low flame or until the vegetables or chicken/mutton is cooked.

Or

Simultaneously, add 250g of vegetables or small chicken/mutton pieces, masala paste from Rich n Spice kit & 100 ml water (if required add more) in a pressure cooker. Mix well. Cook for 1 whistle and then keep on low flame until the vegetables or chicken/mutton is cooked.

Microwave Method

Step 3 - Pulao preparation

Add 1 tbsp. ghee in a pan. Make a layer of vegetables chicken/mutton gravy followed by a layer of cooked rice over it. Repeat and finish off with the gravy layer. Pour some ghee, kewra water & sprinkle Kohinoor Magical Masala on the top. Close lid & simmer for 2-3 minutes. Mix rice & vegetables or chicken/mutton gently.

Microwave Method

Step 4 - Garnish

Garnish with mint leaves & serve hot with raita.

Tip: For better results cook in a heavy bottom pan on low flame.
