Bamboo Shoots is a healthy, delicious dish from the state of Nagaland. It can be cooked with pork and lamb as well. Being less spicy, makes it heavenly delight if you are craving for a simple meal with a plate of Kohinoor Basmati Rice. Chicken Bamboo Shoots

  • Chicken
  • ½ Cup bamboo shoots 
  • 3 Green chili 
  • Dry red chili flakes
  • 3 Cherry tomatoes 
  • Ginger 
  • Garlic
  • Onions (optional)
  • Spring onions
  • Salt
  • Clean the chicken and keep aside 
  • Then add some salt to it
  • Simultaneously, cut onions into thin slices, crush ginger and garlic, slit the green chilies 
  • Now take a cooker
  • Pour ½ tsp. oil into the cooker, then add the green chilies, dried red chili flakes, crushed ginger and garlic 
  • Stir it for few seconds then add onions to it 
  • Sauté it till transparent then add tomatoes, spring onions to it 
  • Now add bamboo shoots and stir it well 
  • Then add chicken 
  • Note: add little water if more gravy is required 
  • Close the cooker lid, cook it till 3-4 whistles 
  • Chicken Bamboo Shoots is ready to be served along with Kohinoor Basmati Rice
