Chinese Fried Rice is a dish of steamed rice stir-fried in a wok, mixed with other ingredients like eggs, vegetables, and meat. It is sometimes served as the penultimate dish in Chinese banquets, just before dessert. As a homemade dish, fried rice is typically made with leftover ingredients (including vegetables, meat) from other dishes, leading to countless variations.

  • 3 cups steamed Kohinoor Basmati rice
  • 3/4 cup French Beans, cut diagonally into thin strips
  • 3/4 cup Carrot, cut into long thin strips
  • 3/4 cup Capsicum (red, yellow and green), cut into long thin strips
  • 1 tbsp. chopped Celery
  • 1/2 cup Spring Onion Whites, chopped
  • 2 tsp. Soy Sauce
  • 1/2 cup spring onion greens, chopped
  • A pinch M.S.G (optional)
  • 1 tbsp. Oil
  • Salt to taste
  • Heat the oil in a pan; add the vegetables, celery, spring onion whites and ajinomoto and sauté over a high flame for 3 to 4 minutes till the vegetables soften.
  • Add the rice, soya sauce, spring onion greens and salt. Mix well and sauté for 2 minutes.
  • Serve hot.
