Dry Fruit Chikkis are made by giving a twist of nuts and dry fruits to traditional Chikkis, which are sweet, crunchy snacks from Lonavala in the Sahyadris.

  • Badaam (Almonds) - 1 cup (chopped)
  • Pistachios - 1 cup (chopped)
  • Cashewnuts (Kaju) - 1 cup (chopped)
  • Jaggery (Gur) - 1/4 cup (grated)
  • Kesar (Saffron) - few soaked in Milk
  • Ghee - 2 big spoonful
  • Take a pan, add in Ghee, and heat it.
  • When the Ghee melts, add grated Jaggery.
  • Let it blend.
  • When it becomes thick, add in Kesar, Dry Fruits, and mix well.
  • When it is done, the Ghee will start leaving sides.
  • Grease a plate and pour the mixture into it.
  • Cool and cut into pieces.
